Our Members Speak

Hear directly from the students who joined Journey Back in Time.

My experience as a Ugandan helped me connect more deeply with Jewish history in Journey Back in Time because I could relate to themes of migration, identity, and resilience. It showed me how, despite different backgrounds, we share similar stories of survival and strength.

Victor B.

University of Maryland

As a Ukrainian Jewish student, Journey Back in Time helped me see how the struggles and resilience in my community’s history connect with those of African Americans. It deepened my understanding of shared experiences and the importance of standing together.

Maxim S.

Stanford University

As a first-generation Jewish immigrant with heritage tracing back to Central Asia, participating in the community fundraiser helped me connect with my own history and the strength of our community.

Lillian R.

Bayridge Preparatory Highschool

My favorite part of Journey Back in Time was the discussions about shared histories and personal stories. The queer panels were especially powerful; to me, they highlighted the strength found in embracing all parts of our identities.
